These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Intelligent Accountants platform and the services provided through it.

Intelligent Accountants is a trading name of ASJ Financial Accounting Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing our website, creating an account, or purchasing a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Our Services

We provide professional tax preparation services, including:

  • Self Assessment tax return preparation
  • Corporation Tax return preparation

Our services include:

  • Collection of information via our platform
  • Review and preparation by qualified accountants
  • Opportunity for amendments
  • Submission to HMRC upon your approval

We do not provide regulated financial advice or investment advice.

3. Eligibility and Account Use

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information
  • Upload all required documentation promptly
  • Respond to requests for clarification in a timely manner

We are not responsible for:

  • Errors resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delays caused by your failure to provide required information
  • Any penalties or additional liabilities arising from such issues

5. Service Process

Our services follow a structured process:

  1. You complete initial qualifying questions
  2. You upload financial information
  3. An accountant prepares your return
  4. You review and request amendments
  5. We submit to HMRC upon your approval

No submission will be made without your explicit approval.

6. Pricing and Payment

  • All prices are clearly displayed before purchase
  • Payment must be made in full before work begins
  • Payments are processed securely via Stripe

We do not store your payment card details.

7. Subscription and Renewal

Our services are provided on an annual subscription basis.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically each year
  • You will receive notification prior to renewal
  • You may cancel renewal at any time via your account dashboard

Unless cancelled before renewal, payment will be taken automatically.

8. Amendments

Each service includes up to two (2) free amendments.

  • Amendments allow you to request reasonable changes before submission
  • Additional amendments may incur additional charges

You are expected to use the amendment process to resolve issues prior to requesting refunds.

9. Refund Policy

9.1 General Position

Due to the nature of professional services:

  • Refunds are not guaranteed
  • Refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis
  • Refund decisions are made at our sole discretion

9.2 When Refunds May Be Considered

We may consider a refund where:

  • You cancel shortly after purchase and no work has begun
  • We are unable to provide the service for reasons within our control
  • There has been a clear failure in service delivery

9.3 Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refunds will not be provided where:

  • Work has commenced on your return
  • You have provided documentation and preparation has begun
  • You change your mind after work has started
  • You fail to provide required information
  • You are dissatisfied but the service has been delivered as described
  • Your return has been submitted to HMRC

9.4 Amendments in Place of Refunds

  • You must use the included amendment process before seeking a refund
  • Refusal to engage with reasonable amendments may invalidate refund requests

9.5 Subscription Payments

  • Subscription fees are non-refundable once processed
  • Cancelling your subscription prevents future charges but does not entitle you to a refund for the current period

9.6 Partial Refunds

In limited cases, we may offer a partial refund where:

  • Work has started but not significantly progressed

This is at our discretion.

10. Communication

All communication is conducted via:

  • The Intelligent Accountants platform
  • Email

We do not provide telephone support.

11. HMRC Submissions

We prepare and submit tax returns based on the information you provide.

You acknowledge that:

  • You remain responsible for the accuracy of your information
  • Submission is made only after your approval
  • We are not liable for penalties arising from incorrect or incomplete data provided by you

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We provide services with reasonable care and skill
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant service

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

13. Third-Party Services

We rely on third-party providers, including:

  • Stripe (payments)
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Analytics services

We are not responsible for the availability or performance of these third-party services.

14. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback without contacting us first:

  • We may suspend or terminate your account
  • We may provide evidence to Stripe or your payment provider
  • Access to services may be restricted

We encourage you to contact us to resolve disputes.

15. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account where:

  • You breach these Terms
  • You provide false or misleading information
  • You fail to cooperate with reasonable requests
  • There is suspected misuse or fraudulent activity

16. Data Protection

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will always be available on our website.

Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updates.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
