This Refund Policy explains how refunds are handled for services provided by Intelligent Accountants, a trading name of ASJ Financial Accounting Services Ltd.
By purchasing our services, you agree to this Refund Policy.
2. Nature of Our Services
Intelligent Accountants provides professional tax preparation services, including:
- Self Assessment tax returns
- Corporation Tax returns
These services involve:
- Review of your financial information
- Professional time and expertise
- Preparation and submission to HMRC
As such, refunds are assessed differently from standard digital or physical products.
3. General Refund Position
We aim to provide a high-quality service at all times.
However:
- Refunds are not guaranteed once work has commenced
- Refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis
- Refund decisions are made at our sole discretion
4. When Refunds May Be Considered
We may consider a refund in circumstances such as:
- You cancel shortly after purchase before any work has begun
- We are unable to deliver the service for reasons within our control
- There has been a clear error or failure in the service provided
5. When Refunds Will Not Be Provided
Refunds will generally not be provided in the following situations:
- Work has already commenced on your tax return
- You have submitted required information and preparation has begun
- You change your mind after work has started
- Delays are caused by your failure to provide information
- You are dissatisfied with the outcome but the service has been delivered as described
- Your tax return has been submitted to HMRC
6. Amendments and Corrections
Each service includes up to two (2) free amendments.
If you are not satisfied with your return:
- You are expected to use the amendment process first
- Additional amendments may be available for a fee
Refunds will not be provided where:
- Reasonable amendments have been offered but declined
7. Subscription Payments
Services are provided on an annual subscription basis.
- Subscription fees are payable in advance
- Renewal payments are non-refundable once processed
- You may cancel future renewals at any time via your dashboard
Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period.
8. Partial Refunds
In some circumstances, we may offer a partial refund, for example:
- Where only part of the service has been completed
- Where work has commenced but not progressed significantly
Any partial refund is determined at our discretion.
9. Chargebacks and Disputes
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us:
- We reserve the right to suspend your account
- We may provide evidence to the payment provider (e.g. Stripe)
- Future access to services may be restricted
